Planning Board

The Planning Board is an independent body comprised of seven (7) members appointed by the Town Board.  The Board’s review powers are conferred, and also limited, by statutory framework of state laws and the Town’s zoning ordinance.

Virtually all new development within the town, whether residential or commercial subdivision maps and/or site plan proposals are subject to the Board’s review and approval.  Procedurally, such development proposals or applications are subject to a public hearing, conducted by the Board, which provides an opportunity for neighbors, Town residents and other members of the community to fully comment on the development proposal.
