Expanded In Home Service for the Elderly Program “E.I.S.E.P.”

Residents 60 years of age and older who are no longer able to perform the day to day tasks of managing a home may be eligible for limited Home Care Services. EISEP services range from assistance with paperwork, grocery shopping, errands, help with laundry, meal preparation and light housekeeping, to aid with bathing and grooming.

Caseworkers from the Suffolk County Office for the Aging determine need, eligibility and fees, which are based on a sliding scale. Once a case is opened, the Town’s Senior Citizen Division administers the housekeeper services. Personal care is provided through other agencies assigned by the County.

Housekeeper visits are typically 3 hours, once per week, and may include:
  • Grocery Shopping (nearest supermarket)
  • Errands (pharmacy, post office, library)
  • Meal Preparation
  • Laundry
  • Light Housekeeping
