In July, Cablevision will begin eliminating the duplicate analog feeds of programming channels in the Broadcast Basic and Family tiers throughout Suffolk County, including Brookhaven Town. The result of this transition will be a fully digital cable system in the area. This transition will begin on July 12 and run through approximately September 29. If you already have a digital box, this transition will not affect your service. Customers who have analog boxes will need to get digital boxes and customers who still have analog televisions will need to get set top boxes. To ease customers during this transition, Cablevision will offer free set top boxes and CableCards to their existing customers to insure uninterrupted service. Residential Analog Customers (they do not have boxes):
- up to 2 free cable boxes or CableCARDs for 2 years
- Analog Broadcast Basic Medicaid Offer up to 2 free cable boxes or CableCARDs for 5 years (proof required)
Residential Digital Customers (already have boxes in home):
- up to 3 free cable boxes or CableCARDs for 1 year in addition to those already being paid for
Municipal Customers (Schools, Libraries, Municipal Buildings):
