Most New Yorkers qualify for a free or reduced-cost comprehensive home assesment, also referred to as an energy audit, and low-interest loans. Additionally, participants may be elgible for cash-back incentives.
When you participate in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program you will be working with a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Accredited home improvement contractor. BPI is a leading developer of technicals standards for home performance and weatherization retrofit work that are recognized across North America.

Long Island Green Homes at Brookhaven
The Town of Brookhaven's Office of Energy and Sustainability administers the Brookhaven Green Homes Program as part of the larger Long Island Green Homes Consortium. Click here to learn more about the Long Island Green Homes Consortium.
Brookhaven Green Homes is a local program designed to promote home and building energy efficiency in the Town of Brookhaven. This program, through funding from the Department of Energy and cooperative agreements with Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDCLI) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), helps Brookhaven residents save money, reduce carbon emissions and increase the health, safety and comfort of their homes and buildings. Brookhaven residents now have access to energy audits, installation services, low-cost financing and pathways to training for various green collar careers through the Green Jobs Green New York (GJGNY) program.

How to Participate
- Schedule a Home Assesment - Apply for a free (or reduced cost) energy audit with a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Contractor Energy Audit Application
- Make Improvements - Select a participating BPI Accredited Home Performance Contractor
- Get Incentives - Evaluate the energy saving measures recommended.
