Puppies from the Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center joined Mike Arms, President of Helen Woodward Animal Center in CA, as he rang the opening bell at the stock exchange.
Mike Arms is the creator of Home 4 The Holidays pet adoption campaign, which began nine years ago. The Brookhaven Animal Shelter was proud to be selected to represent more than 2,750 groups in 14 countries all working “Hand-in-Paw” to increase pet adoptions during Iams Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption campaign.
“It was amazing to stand in front of the stock traders and brokers,” says Arms.
“They arrived this morning thinking of how they could make a profit on this last day before Christmas but, as they looked up and saw our group holding the orphaned puppies, the mood changed. It was a reminder to them that “life” is the real reason for the season.”
Representatives from the NYSE, Town of Brookhaven and Iams also participated in the opening ceremony.
