Senior Citizen's Division
A fast growing population of more than 60,000 seniors call the Town of Brookhaven their home. In an effort to enrich the lives of its elderly residents, the Town offers seniors an ever-growing scope of services and activities. Among the current programs the Town offers are medical and shopping transportation, adult day care, in-home services, Home Chore and Senior Repair, senior citizen clubs, summertime picnics, sports and day trips. Some services require a fee, but a majority of programs are offered free of charge to eligible residents or taxpayers of the Town of Brookhaven who are 60 years of age or older.
To Join a Senior Citizen Club
Residents and taxpayers of the Town of Brookhaven, ages 60 years and over are welcome to join one of our 43 clubs located throughout the Town. The clubs are located in Bellport, Blue Point, Centereach, Center Moriches, Coram, Farmingville. Lake Grove, Lake Ronkonkoma, Manorville, Mastic, Mastic Beach, Medford, Middle Island, Miller Place, Mt. Sinai, East Patchogue, Patchogue, North Patchogue, Ridge, Rocky Point, Selden, Shirley, Sound Beach, Stony Brook, and Yaphank. Please call 451-9191 to find the location and meeting dates for a club in your area. Any Brookhaven Town resident or taxpayer 60 years of age or older may join any of Brookhaven Town's Senior Citizen Clubs. No transportation is provided to Senior Citizen Club meetings.
New Announcements -
The new Rose Caracappa Senior Citizen and Wellness Center on Route 25A in Mt. Sinai is now open for some activities. Seniors Citizens who are 60 years of age or older and residents or taxpayers of the Town are welcome to stop by. The Port Jefferson Senior Citizen Club, which meets on Fridays, is currently welcoming new members. The building also houses a three day/week Adult Day Care Program and a three day/week Senior Nutrition Program as well as home delivered meals. Call or stop by to get a list of activities.
