Farmingville, NY – NY –Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh has announced that she will sponsor an E-Waste Drive at Centereach High School and Newfield High School from Monday, February 25 through Friday, March 1. The E-Waste drive is an event where old electronics can be safely collected and then recycled. Items can be dropped off at the schools anytime during the week of the event up until 10:00 am on March 1. The E-waste Drive is co-sponsored by Councilwoman Walsh and the Middle Country School District.
“Everybody has old electronic items stored in drawers, closets, boxes and basements and this is a great opportunity to clean up the house and safely recycle E-waste,” said Councilwoman Walsh, “If e-waste is not disposed of properly it could be harmful to the environment, so I urge residents to take advantage of our E-waste drive and do their part to make Brookhaven a cleaner and greener place to live.”
Centereach High School is located at 14 43rd Street in Centereach and Newfield High School is located at 145 Marshall Drive in Selden.
Residents are urged to bring the following items to be recycled:
