Farmingville, NY – The Town of Brookhaven announced that there will be limited garbage pickup on Monday, February 11. However, the Department of Waste Management cautioned that, given the unprecedented amount of snow, it may be difficult to access all areas of the Town. Full service is expected to return on Tuesday, February 12th. Residents are asked to remove cans from the street after pickup to allow snow plows to pass unobstructed.
Please go to the Town’s website at www.brookhaven.org for up-to-date snowstorm related news, information, and emergency contact numbers. Call 911 for police, fire and ambulance emergencies only. To report a power outage or downed wires, call LIPA at 800-490-0075 or 631-755-6900, or go to www.lipower.org to make a report online.
The Town is sending out e-mail alerts to residents who have registered on our e-mail list. If you are not on the list, you can sign up today at www.brookhaven.org. Residents can also sign up for countywide Code Red alerts at www.suffolkcountyny.gov.
