Farmingville, NY – Spring is here and once again its Prom time. Everywhere there are high school students preparing for this special event and the Town of Brookhaven Department of Human Services/ Youth Bureau will be ready.
The Prom Boutique, located in Brookhaven Town Hall, is perfectly decorated as a dress shop fitting room. All year long the youth bureau has been accepting donations of evening dresses and gowns and handbags, jewelry and perfume. Young ladies who qualify for assistance can be dressed from head to toe helping to make their prom dreams come true. All the clients are kept confidential. Appointments are necessary.
If you are interested in making a donation of your gently used attire, we can be found on the 2nd floor in Brookhaven Town Hall at 1 Independence Hill Farmingville New York. All clothing donations need to be dry cleaned and pressed before they can be accepted. For additional information you may contact us at 451-8011 or visit our web site at www.brookhaven.org for details.
Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh, the liaison for Youth Services said, “Each year the number of people in need have increased. Budgetary restraints have hindered our efforts. I am happy to assist anyway possible. I hope you will continue to support your fellow residents and our youth in Brookhaven Town by donating your unwanted items. It is so important in these tough economic times that we help each other. If you need any additional service you can contact my office at 451-6647.”
