Brookhaven Is Accepting Applications for Section 8 Program

OCTOBER 10, 2006, FARMINGVILLE, NY – The Brookhaven Town Department of Housing, Community Development and Intergovernmental Affairs is now accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. 

To be eligible, an applicant must be a “family,” must be income-eligible, and must be a U.S. citizen or a non-citizen who has eligible immigration status.  Only one application should be submitted per household.

Applications will be available until October 16 at all libraries in the Town of Brookhaven, Town of Brookhaven recreation centers, the Bellport Hagerman East Patchogue Alliance, the town’s Department of Housing, Community Development and Intergovernmental Affairs, and on the Brookhaven website at www.brookhaven.org.  If an interested party is unable to obtain an application from one of these sources, the department will mail them one.

Completed applications must be mailed in a plain white business size envelope to the Town of Brookhaven Section 8 Program, P.O. Box 505, Farmingville, NY 11738.  The applicant should list their return address on the envelope. No applications will be accepted at the Town of Brookhaven offices. Applications must be postmarked no later than October 16, 2006 in order to be accepted.
