Singer/Songwriter Patrizia Hosts Exciting New Parks Program
JANUARY 25, 2007, FARMINGVILLE, NY – Brookhaven Town Supervisor Brian X. Foley is proud to announce that the Town Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Long Island’s own nationally accredited singer/songwriter Patrizia, will be hosting a unique musical workshop for young town residents.
This workshop, the first of its kind in the town, will bring children between the ages of 6-14 together to create their own music CD. All the children need to bring is their ideas, thoughts and creativity. At the end of the six-week workshop, each child will leave with a fully recorded music CD that they have contributed to in the form of writing, recording and producing.
“This is truly a unique opportunity for youngsters in our town,” said Town Supervisor Brian X. Foley. “Never before have they had a chance to work with a famous artist to create their own music CD. This is another example of the great new programs offered through the town Parks Department.”
The workshop for 6 to 9-year-olds will be held on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. at the New Village Recreation Center starting January 30. The workshop for 10 to14-yea-olds will be held on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Mt. Sinai Community Center starting January 31.
