JANUARY 7, 2008, FARMINGVILLE, NEW YORK – Brookhaven Town Supervisor Brian X. Foley has announced that a Ronkonkoma Hub informational meeting originally scheduled for December 13 has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium, One Independence Hill, Farmingville. The original meeting was cancelled due to bad weather.
“Community-based planning has been a key part of my administration and the formation of a plan for the Ronkonkoma Hub will include input from every concerned citizen,” said Supervisor Foley. “The only way to create a plan that addresses everyone’s concerns is to bring all the stakeholders to the table and that is exactly what we are doing.”
Information about the meeting will be posted at the Ronkonkoma Railroad Station, and numerous organizations have also been notified, including the Holbrook and Ronkonkoma Civic groups, Chambers of Commerce, emergency services, the local Historic Society, Anti-Litter Task Force and the Hub business district. The participants who attended the first Study presentation have been invited, including the MTA, LIRR, Suffolk County Transit, Town of Islip, Suffolk County Planning, and more.
This meeting is to provide an additional forum for public input, to present a summary of the questionnaire results and to provide a study update.
