FOLEY LOOKS FOR BEST AND BRIGHTEST FOR BOARDS

Search Begins for Best and Brightest to Serve on Boards

APRIL 3, 2006, FARMINGVILLE, NY –
As the Foley administration ushers in a new culture of competence, Brookhaven Supervisor Brian X. Foley is looking for the best and brightest in Brookhaven Town to become members of the town’s Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Continuing the search to fill positions within his new administration that began with his appointment of eminently qualified candidates when he took over the reins of town government in January, Supervisor Foley is reaching out to the public to find the best candidates in town for these critical municipal board positions.

“Residents that sit on the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals make decisions every day that impact the lives of Brookhaven Town residents, and we need to make sure that each and every member of these boards have the best interests of the Town of Brookhaven and its residents as their only motivation,” said Supervisor Foley. “We need individuals who share our vision of bringing open, honest, and responsive government to our town.”

Supervisor Foley is going to appoint a five-person executive council of advisors to help him analyze and review the various applicants for the two boards. Advertisements announcing the openings are also in appearing local newspapers as well as on the town’s website located at
www.Brookhaven.org.

Currently, there are two open seats on the Planning Board and three open seats on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

“I am looking forward to adding to these boards skilled citizens willing to work for the betterment of their town and its residents,” said Supervisor Foley. “By selecting well qualified people to fill vacancies on our boards, we are going to insure that the citizens of Brookhaven Town get the prompt, fair and efficient service that my administration is creating.”
