BROOKHAVEN, NY – Supervisor Mark Lesko and the Brookhaven Town Board announce that the Brookhaven Office of Women’s Services will be hosting “Networking 101,” a fast-paced, “how-to” workshop on tuning up job skills to fit today’s job market on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 7-9 pm in the Brookhaven Town Hall Auditorium, located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville.
Presentations will include:
- “Dressing for Success on a Shoestring Budget” presented by Lorraine Russo, the Wardrobe Wizard. Learn the basic wardrobe pieces you need and how to put new outfits together using your existing wardrobe.
- “Reinventing Yourself” presented by Cindy Carsi of Sales Solutions Now! Helps use your current skills to transition into a new career.
- “A Social Media Approach to the Job Search” presented by Shawna Armstrong of Aon Consulting guides you through LinkedIn, FaceBook, Twitter and blogs to find a job.
There is also a chance to test your skills with experts from 20 different fields in a SPEED COACHING setting. Coaching Tables include areas such as resume review, interview skills, job search skills, career transitioning, banking, and customer service.
