BROOKHAVEN, NY – Councilwoman Jane Bonner recently met with the students from Mr. Bonomi’s Government Class at Rocky Point High School. As part of an exercise in civics, each student in the class had sent a letter to the councilwoman detailing their specific suggestions for community improvements. A stimulating “give and take” ensued as Councilwoman Bonner responded to the students’ particular requests.

“I really enjoyed meeting with the students of Rocky Point High,” said Councilwoman Bonner. “I believe it’s only through our young people’s active involvement in the civic life of their community that Brookhaven Town will continue to prosper and improve.” “Having started my career in public service with the Rocky Point Civic, and as a former school board member, it was an added pleasure interacting with some of this community’s newest registered voters.”
