BROOKHAVEN, NY – Councilwoman Jane Bonner participated in the opening ceremonies of the Rocky Point community’s “Relay for Life” held Friday, May 29, 2009. “It’s great to see so many familiar faces here championing this unequaled celebration of life and cancer survivorship” said Councilwoman Bonner “As everyone present is all too familiar, a diagnosis of cancer can be devastating - to both the cancer victims and their families. Relay presents us with an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those we know who have battled cancer and survived – their strength inspires others inflicted with the disease to continue to fight.”
