MAY 24, 2006, FARMINGVILLE, NY – The Brookhaven Arts and Humanities Council has 157 pieces of art on display in Town Hall.
The display consists of a variety of different mediums including watercolor paintings, oil paintings, pastels, mixed media, photography, and digitally enhanced photography. The pieces were created by 36 members of the Arts and Humanities Council, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual and performing artists who live and work in Brookhaven Town.
“We are very excited to have these pieces in Town Hall,” said Supervisor Brian X. Foley. “The arts are something that we should all work to support and preserve, and it is a delight to walk down the halls surrounded by the work of the artists of our town.”
“We are honored to do this exhibit for the Town of Brookhaven in its beautiful new Town Hall,” said Council President Rosemarie Schmidt. “The town has been so supportive of our efforts to bring the work of visual and performing artists to our residents, and we are delighted to organize this showcase.”
The exhibit will be on display on the third floor of Town Hall for the next two months. For information on the artists and their work, call (631) 451-9070.
