Farmingville, NY – On Saturday, October 1, Councilwoman Jane Bonner will host a Pharmaceutical Take – Back Program from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center, 739 Route 25A in Mount Sinai. The event is sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven. At the event, residents can drop off any unused, expired or unwanted prescription or over the counter medications and they will be properly disposed of.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “This event will provide our residents with a safe, secure and environmentally friendly way to dispose of unused or unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, keeping it out of our children's hands, our waterways and waste stream. I urge everyone to participate in this program.”

Items that can be deposited at the pharmaceutical drop-off event include:

• Prescription medications
• Over-the-Counter medications
• Ointments, Lotions & Creams in containers
• Vitamins & Supplements
• Liquids in containers
• Cold medications
• Pet medications
