Farmingville, NY – On October 1, Supervisor Mark Lesko and Councilman Tim Mazzei attended the St. Liberata Festival in Patchogue Village. At the event, which was sponsored by the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Greater Patchogue Foundation, they presented a Certificate of Congratulations to lifelong Patchogue resident Lenny Locantore who was honored by the committee as the 2011 Italian-American of the Year.

In making the presentation, Supervisor Lesko said, “Lenny has been such a vital part of the Patchogue community for so many years and I am happy to honor him here today. He is well deserving of this special recognition by his friends and neighbors.”

Councilman Tim Mazzei, who is a cousin of Mr. Locantore and whose father participated for many years in the Festival of St. Liberata said, “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor than Lenny. The Italian-American community has such a rich history in Patchogue and we are all lucky and proud to call him our friend.”
