Farmingville, NY – On October 16, Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended the Rocky Point Historical Society's 15th Annual Tea. This year’s event celebrated the 90th anniversary of the opening of RCA Radio Central in Rocky Point, the world's largest radio transmitting station. The event was held at the Fischer-Hewins VFW Post #6249, where Councilwoman Bonner presented a "Certificate of Congratulations" to the Rocky Point Historical Society in celebration of the event.

“I commend the Rocky Point Historical Society for all the work they do to preserve the heritage of the North Shore,” said Councilwoman Bonner. “If not for the efforts of so many volunteers, much of our rich history would be forgotten. Thanks to them, it remains part of the fabric of our community.”

“I want to thank the Rocky Point Historical Society for commemorating the 90th anniversary of the opening of the RCA Transmitting Station in Rocky Point,” said Assemblyman Daniel P. Losquadro (R, C – Shoreham). “It is important for residents to know our community had an influential role in researching and developing the sciences of radio and television.”
