Farmingville, NY – On Sunday October 16, Supervisor Mark Lesko joined members of the Stony Brook Fire Department for their Annual Fire Prevention and Safety Day. The event, which was attended by hundreds of residents, included fire prevention and safety demonstrations, displays and activities for all ages and a special appearance by “Smokey Bear.”

“I commend the Stony Brook Fire Department for organizing this special event,” said Supervisor Lesko. “It’s great to see so many people come out, especially the children who got the chance to learn about fire prevention and safety. It’s a lot of fun, but the real purpose is to help save lives.”

Stony Brook Fire Commissioner Paul Degen said, “It was a beautiful day that our residents could enjoy with their families and learn about fire prevention and safety. We are very proud of our all our volunteer membership and their dedication. It was great to see Supervisor Lesko here supporting our Fire Department and community during Fire Prevention Day.”
