Farmingville, NY – On October 22, Brookhaven Town Councilman Tim Mazzei and Town Tax Receiver Lou Marcoccia presented a Certificate of Congratulations to Boy Scout Zachary R. Robinson of Troop 100 in recognition of having met the qualifications and achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout – the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. The certificate was presented to Zachary in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor at the Waverly Elementary School in Holtsville.

Councilman Tim Mazzei said, “I commend Zachary for his dedication, commitment and service to the community, and his parents for the support they give to this exceptional young man. Zachary and his fellow scouts who achieve the rank of Eagle Scout are the leaders of tomorrow and set a great example for all to follow.”

Tax Receiver Marcoccia said, "It was a real honor and pleasure to participate in the recognition of Eagle Scout Zachary Robinson. Our community is truly enriched by the efforts of the scouting program and the families that support them. I wish Eagle Scout Zachary his family and all the members of Troop 100 continued success"

Zacary’s Eagle Scout project was to construct fencing at Brookhaven Town’s Holtsville Ecology Center. He and his Troop built 65 feet of fencing with a gate around an area which will house a turtle sanctuary. It took him and his Troop over 300 hours to plan and carry out the project. His project will help protect the turtles as well as the people visiting the park.
