Supervisor Lesko Announces December 15 as Last Day to Register for FEMA Disaster Aid from Hurricane Irene

Farmingville, NY – Supervisor Mark Lesko has announced that anyone who sustained losses or damage from Hurricane Irene has until Thursday, December 15 to register for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance.

Supervisor Lesko said, “As I toured the Town in the days following Hurricane Irene, I witnessed first hand the damage caused by Hurricane Irene. If you were affected by the Hurricane I encourage you to register for individual assistance with FEMA.

For more information or to apply for assistance online, residents must go to www.disasterassistance.gov and follow the instructions. To apply by phone, call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing impaired. Smartphone applications are also available at m.fema.gov.

Supervisor Lesko also announced that December 15 is the deadline to complete and return an SBA low-interest disaster loan application. To find out more, go to www.sba.gov or call 1-800-659-2955.
