Farmingville, NY – On December 29, Councilwoman Jane Bonner and Parks Commissioner Ed Morris were presented with plaques and t-shirts from the Rocky Point Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6249 for their assistance in creating the 9-11 Memorial at Diamond in the Pines Park in Coram. The memorial honors rescue workers and all the graduates and residents from the Towns of Brookhaven and Riverhead that were lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The memorial also honors veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner said, “Joe and Rich deserve all the credit for making the 9-11 Memorial a reality. Their dedication and hard work is what got the job done and I was happy to do whatever I could to help move it forward.”
