Town Extends Hours of Warming Centers for Residents Without Heat

ALL WARMING CENTERS WILL CLOSE AT THE END OF BUSINESS ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2012 WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MASTIC RECREATION CENTER

Farmingville, NY –
The Town of Brookhaven has extended the hours of operation of the seven warming centers located throughout the community. Residents who do not have heat in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy can visit from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. The extended hours will be in effect until further notice. If you do not have access to transportation, please call  516-807-7203.

The Town’s Warming Center locations are:

Please note that these are temporary warming locations. Those seeking overnight shelter should go to the Red Cross Shelter at Sachem High School East, 177 Granny Road in Farmingville. For more information, call the Red Cross at 631-924-6911 or 1-800-733-2767. Residents can also go to www.suffolkcountyny.gov or www.redcross.org.
