Supervisor Romaine to Host Special Free Screening of the Movie “Lone Survivor” for Brookhaven Town Veterans

Movie is based on the true story of Brookhaven war hero Lt. Michael Murphy

Farmingville, NY – On Tuesday, February 4 at 12:00 noon, Supervisor Ed Romaine will host a special screening of the movie, “Lone Survivor,” free to Brookhaven Town veterans. The movie will be shown at the AMC Loews Stony Brook 17 located at 2196 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook. “Lone Survivor” is based on a true story about four Navy Seals whose mission in Afghanistan turns into a fierce firefight leaving only one survivor. Lieutenant Michael Murphy, a Brookhaven Town resident from Patchogue, was killed in the operation and was later awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest decoration in the U.S. military.

Veterans who would like to attend the free special screening of “Lone Survivor” must reserve their seat by calling 631-482-4842 by February 1. Seating is limited on a first come first served basis. Proof of military service must be presented at the door for entrance into the theater.
