FEBRUARY 29, 2008, FARMINGVILLE, NY – Brookhaven Town Supervisor Brian X. Foley today announced Tactronics Holdings, LLC, a premier provider of ultra-rugged, combat-proven tactical integrated electronic systems, will be relocating their headquarters from Westhampton Beach, NY to a new 24,000 square foot facility in Brookhaven Town’s North Bellport hamlet.
Tactronics, whose primary focus is providing leading–edge technologies to worldwide military, government agency, and homeland security markets, will transfer 68 current jobs and add 35 new positions when they make the move.
“Tactronics motto is,” said Supervisor Foley, “In the world ultra-rugged, combat-proven systems, failure is not an option. We are pleased to discover, however, that clearly the Town of Brookhaven is not just an option for the location of their world headquarters, but their preferred option.”
Founded in 1993, Tactronics is privately held and currently headquartered in Westhampton Beach, NY. For more than a decade the company has played a crucial role in the design, development and manufacturing of integrated electronic systems for the United States Special Operation Forces (SOF), the United States Army, the United States Army Research Laboratory, the United States Navy, NASA, and the United Kingdom Special Forces.
But having established itself within the military segment, Tactronics is now expanding into new commercial and international markets. The growth has resulted in the need for a new facility, and when the search began -- through Zere Real Estate Services, Inc. -- they looked no further than Brookhaven.
Mr. Foley, whose administration has been making a spirited and patently successful effort in economic development, is pleased to welcome Tactroncs and its employees to the Township.
Said Supervisor Foley, “Brookhaven companies and institutions have been producing material and systems vital to our nation’s defense since 1917 and the days of Camp Upton. We are honored Tactronics has elected to join the ranks of those who have come before. As always, my administration stands ready to work with and support such a company."
The company brings broad expertise in system solutions, as well as specific skills in systems design, analysis and integration, engineering, software development, testing and validation, and life cycle support to the Town. With its world-class team of engineering and manufacturing professionals Tactronics has advanced the development of tactical integrated electronic systems for over twenty years.
Mr. Foley thanked Ray Donnely, who leads the Town’s economic development team, “Not only did you help save 68 high paying Long Island jobs but brought an additional 35 new jobs projected over the next five years.
“Telling the Brookhaven story gets results when prestigious companies such as Tactronics move here, results that are putting Brookhaven on the economic development map,” Mr. Foley said.
