Intro To Tourism


History

In April 1998, the Town established a Tourism Commission to investigate the full tourism potential of the Town. The Commission recognized that the town has many attractions and that its southern and northern borders are shore lines, which gives it stronger visitor potential. The commitment of the Supervisor and Board has encouraged the Commission's development so that we may secure a greater percentage of the tourism industry.

Mission Statement

• To develop Brookhaven Town's full Tourism potential and enjoy our share of Long Island's multi-billion dollar Tourism Industry.
  
• To develop and utilize our existing assets.
  
• To explore, market, create and develop world-class attractions in natural resources, culture, entertainment, sports and transportation.
  
• To act as a conduit for ideas, issues and concerns for the Town of Brookhaven Tourism Industry.
