Hope
Hope

On March 5, 2007 a female puppy, Lab Mix named "Hope" was found injured, tied up and abandoned in the woods. A Good Samaritan brought her to The Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. The shelter immediately transferred Hope to the Animal Emergency Service in Selden. Upon arriving there, Hope’s condition was unstable. She had serious injuries to her throat and face, was extremely thin, feverish, and had painful injuries to her left fore leg.

Animal Emergency in Selden performed lifesaving surgery and Hope is now recovering and her future looking bright.

Thanks to the "Help The Animals Fund", Hope and many others have been saved. Help the Animals Fund is a program provided by the Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center that allows sick, neglected and injured stray animals to obtain medical care.

Donations to help Hope and her other friends here at the shelter can be made online at

If you are interested in adopting Hope when she is fully recovered, please send us an email at animalshelter@brookhaven.org

Be sure to include your name, address, phone number as well as a brief history about your family.

UPDATE: Hope has now been adopted!
