On Wednesday June 11, 2008 the Town of Brookhaven hosted an all day seminar on Properly Handling the Animal Abuse Case. In attendance were law enforcement agencies from around the state. The class is certified by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and was conducted by The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The staff at the Animal Shelter truly enjoyed the visit by ASPCA Senior Vice President Dale Riedel, ASPCA and Animal Planet Channel Officer Annemarie Lucas.
