You will see us at fairs, parades, firehouses, and shopping malls promoting pet adoptions and distributing humane educational materials. At the Adoption Center we have at least four themed adoption events annually and we even have a free rabies vaccination clinic every year.

Cream Puff

Cream Puff a very sweet and loving young male Poodle Mix came to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center as a stray. Upon arrival the staff noticed lameness on his rear legs so he was immediately sent for x-rays.
 
From the x-rays the veterinarian discovered that Cream Puff has bilateral hip dysplasia which is a faulty development of both hip joints which usually occurs early in life.
 
Cream Puff is currently on medication to help control his pain, and requires very expensive surgery, but this little guy is worth it!
 
The Adoption Center staff is hoping that a veterinarian will donate his or her services for the operation or that there will be an outpouring of donations from the public to help fund Cream Puff’s much needed surgery.
